God of Hope

COVID-19 has taught us several things in the past month.

  1. Your life can literally change in a moments notice.
  2. Governments are not our saviors.
  3. We are not in control
  4. No one knows what they are doing

That all sounds very bleak and grim but I needed to say it so we can all understand that there is literally nothing to grab onto right now.

But there is a hope(a confident expectation) we can trust in. The bible speaks about it often. Just this last week I finished reading Romans and came across this text in chapter 15

Will My Dog Be In Heaven?

We’ve all been there. We’ve been on the receiving end of a question we have no clue what the answer is. What makes it more difficult is when it’s a spiritual question and you are seen as the spiritual person. Many times the world wants us as Christians to answer questions that quite honestly the Bible doesn’t answer. As the Church, we have often marketed the Bible as the book that answers all of life’s questions, but I’m a Bible guy and I still have questions. Continue reading Will My Dog Be In Heaven?

An On Time Word

My church is currently preaching through 1 Corinthians. We just finished looking at the manifestations of the Spirit otherwise known as the gifts of the Spirit. If you are not familiar with what Im speaking about read 1 Corinthians 12-14.

One of these gifts is prophecy. Now prophecy is simply a message that is divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit for you to share with someone that is to encourage them, comfort them and build them up.

I was listening to one of our pastors preach last Sunday and the following text from Genesis jumped out at me.

“4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.” Genesis 3:4-6 Continue reading Deceived
