An On Time Word

My church is currently preaching through 1 Corinthians. We just finished looking at the manifestations of the Spirit otherwise known as the gifts of the Spirit. If you are not familiar with what Im speaking about read 1 Corinthians 12-14.

One of these gifts is prophecy. Now prophecy is simply a message that is divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit for you to share with someone that is to encourage them, comfort them and build them up.

Prayer and Worship

During my 20’s, I was part of a church where worship was a big deal. We would worship for extended periods of time and sometimes this would be the only reason we would gather. There were times with no singing or music, just us being quiet before the Lord. This focus on worship just became the culture of our church. Pastors, Prophets and Teachers

The other night we were sitting at a dinner table with a couple and we were talking about previous preachers and teachers we had the chance to be ministered to by and how different they were from each other. We did so in light of the following passage:

“[11] And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, [12] to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,” Eph 4:11-12 (ESV)
